The ATMA-FBRP is an afforestation and biodiversity restoration initiative implemented at Munnodi Devasthanam, Alappuzha, across more than one acre of land, with CSR assistance from Firmenich Aromatics.
The first phase of the project was inaugurated on March 12th, with the planting of the Nakshatra Vanam, a sacred grove with trees linked to zodiac stars. By connecting nature with culture, we aim to ensure that environmental protection becomes a part of the community’s fabric - reviving a concept that has always been at the heart of our tradition.
Currently over 2000 trees have been planted, with a part of the total area brought under dense forest -type tree plantation. The remaining area is covered with fruit trees and native trees. The arrival of birds and butterflies marks the restoration of an active and diverse ecosystem in the area. Strong community engagement practices ensure long-term ecological sustainability and collective ownership of the restored landscape.
