Free legal aid and counselling support to women who are victims of domestic violence.
Approved and aided by the Dept of Women & Child Development, Govt of Kerala, under the provisions of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005.
  • ATMA SPC caters to the Cherpu Block Panchayath, and is functioning at the Vinayaka Ayurvedic Nursing Home, Palakkal.
  • It is a part of the ATMA Family Counselling Centre functioning on the same premises.
  • Legal counsellor available 3 days a week
  • Filing of DIR/ support in legal procedures
  • Counselling Support/ referral when required
  • Health/economic support wherever possible
  • Conducting awareness campaigns
  • Shelter and other support of the department etc.

Impact

  • 15 women helped in 4 months
  • 18 awareness classes on Domestic Violence Act and Gender Equality were organised at different panchayats in Cherpu Block, reaching out to 870 women from rural households.

Events

Inauguration

The ATMA SPC was launched on November 20, 2022 with an inaugural function attended by eminent dignitaries. Thrissur District Panchayath President Sri P.K. Davis Master inaugurated the ATMA SPC and gave the inaugural address. Smt Geetha Sukumaran, Vice Presdient, Avinissery Grama Panchayath presided over the function. Sri Shibu T V, C I, Cherpu Police Station, released the brochure of the ATMA SPC. Sri C K Suresh, Director, ATMA Foundation, gave the welcome address. Smt Rosily Joy (Member, Cherpu Block Panchayath, Smt Meera P (District Women & Child Development Officer), Smt Lekha S (Women Protection officer), Smt Gretta Kurien (CDPO, Cherpu) and Smt Lakshmi Vinod (President, Inner Wheel Club of Trichur) offered felicitations. The function was attended by 100+ participants including Anganawadi workers and ATMA volunteers.
